If you have two dwarf hamsters and are putting them together in one cage, you might want to get a slightly bigger cage from a cage for only one hamster. Other hamsters are not to share a cage! Remember to check that there is no holes or any way for the hamster to escape, since they are escape artists.

Make sure you have room for everything you are going to put. The minimum ends up about 24" x 12" x 12", though hamsters love to explore. A nice big cage is wonderful - but don't waste money on HUGE cages. You need a wheel, food bowls, water bottles, wood chews, and a little house. You don't want a cage where everything is cramped together and the hamster(s) don't have any room to run. A traveling case, though, needs only enough room to turn around.
